The Kingfisher, Oldham

We have used the pub on a few visits to the area,and we found the service slow but were quite satisfied with the meals. We had to go to the bar for our drinks as the staff never asked if we wanted any. The pub is is in a great setting and in my opinion is in need of leadership.

The service at The Kingfisher is an absolute disgrace, we were asked on arrival whether we wanted drinks, we ordered, they never arrived. The meal was very slow to arrive, and inthe end I had to threaten to walk out before they brought my bill, which I had asked for 3 times. The uniforms on the staff that served, looked like they hadn't been washed for ages. This place has really gone downhill.

Went past on a narrowboat in the summer of 2010 but nothing to moor too so couldn't stop. Uppermill got our custom instead. I complained to Marstons so perhaps when we go back this summer we'll be able to stop.

A great pub owned by Marstons,set up mainly for food sales but has three cask beers on sale.The menu is good and the meals are two for one and great value.The staff here are very polite and service is top class.The cask beers were well kept but the barstaff are not properly trained on how to dispense real ale, but a good pub and we shall return.
