The Bell & Castle Inn, Derby

On my first few visits to the Bell & Castle it was a Bass tied house with a few different rooms inside,the Bass was a decent drink. Once inside the Bell & Castle has had a makeover and looks quite smart,the bar faces on entry,there is a long oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the bar area has bench searing and chairs,the left side is larger and has chunky wood tables and bench seating with chairs,there is an open kitchen to the far left. There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Salopian Oracle,which went down very well,the other real ales were Hartshorn Ignite,Skinners Cornish Trawler and Doom Bar. The pub was reasonably busy on my Saturday afternoon visit. The background music was decent. I thought this was a pleasant enough pub to have a drink in.
