The Three Merry Lads, Chesterfield

I went to this pub with great expectations as I had heard good things.The pub itself seemed very pleasant as was the beer which I would have considered going back another time for that alone but I was told that they constantly change the beers as they are merely Guest Ales. My friend and I ordered a Sunday roast each which at £7.95 per dinner you would think would be pretty good, Wrong!!.. all I can say is if Gordon Ramsey had eaten here the air would probably have turned blue....The roast potatoes( 2 tiny pieces of potato) were cremated beyond belief as was the yorkshire pudd,whilst the lamb was as tough as old boots.I usually appreciate vegetables shouln't be over cooked but they were almost raw.The wine was ok though...! Despite the staff being friendly and hospitable, it was quite obvious to me that the Chef is clearly incompetent and I shan't be returning.
