Mill House, Hook

Brunning & Price pub that was easily the best of 10 Hampshire pubs I visited last Friday. A large car park wraps around a large barn-like building that apparently serves as the function room. The millpond is also adjacent to the car park. The main building contains the mill wheel itself, which can be viewed from the downstairs area, either when seated down there or whilst visiting the toilets. The ground floor area is also quite spacious and homely, with a small bar area and rooms leading off in both directions. Surprisingly for a Brunning & Price establishment, there were no diners at all, just a handful of drinkers. Ales were Titanic Plum Porter, Lister's Best Bitter, Frome Funky Monkey & Dorking Winter's Coming. The cider was Lilley's Mulled Cider, which was being served warm. Service was friendly and professional. Another good example of this chain.
