Star & Garter, Putney, SW15

Soon after moving to lovely Putney, we visited the Star & Garter. The wine list is for real enthusiasts and the walk in cheese room serves well for those who love cheese or those who want to cool off during a hot summer day (ok, maybe not:) Definitely an experience kind of place. Recommend!

I popped my head in this place the other evening as we were passing, and that was enough to convince me that it was not my sort of place. I suppose the purple neon lights outside proclaiming it to be a “wine bar”, was some sort of clue. Inside it looks like a hotel cocktail lounge. There’s obviously no real ale.
