Commercial Hotel, Sandbach

Still unoccupied and looking a little run down. I was amazed to find Good Beer Guide stickers dating back to the 1980's still in the windows!

Very much a traditional (ok, timewarp) pub, so don't expect any fancy trimmings, but still an excellent place for serious drinking.

Unaltered gem of a pub/hotel bar tucked away off the main road. Drinking area is mainly around the bar and corridor although there appears to be one or two other rooms, one of which seems to be a snooker room. Many original features and friendly locals. The beers on offer on my visit were Weetwood Best Bitter which was very good and Davenports Story Teller which was not quite so good but it did not detract from the visit to this excellent pub/bar. If you like unaltered tradition, step back in time and visit this place before someone has a bright idea and tries to “do it up”.
