The Boot Inn, Ludlow

Now in community ownership, this is a nice pub in a tranquil setting at the centre of the Herefordshire village of Orleton, which is not far from the Shropshire border. There is a large bar area as you enter, with a dining area at the right-hand side and a snug at a slightly lower level to the rear left-hand side. Hobson's Best Bitter & Twisted Spire are the regular beers with their Dirty Gertie on as a guest, along with Ludlow Gold as a 4th ale. Featuring in the 2023 Good Beer Guide, this was the better of Orleton's 2 pubs, although my Dirty Gertie didn't quite seem in tip top condition.

A nice little local community boozer, doing decent food and great beer, just what every village needs. 5 of us had a mixed bag of food on a Sunday lunch, from roast beef, through chicken to duck and pigeon. Everything tasted great and was washed down with a couple of pints of XXX and Hobsons Best. off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. decent car parking at the rear and a beer garden for the summer.
