Howley Hotel, Warrington

Recently refurbed again ( Summer 2014 ) and looks very smart too. The landlady and landlord are a young couple who make everyone welcome. The landlady has a collection of famous sport and big screen idols that she has painted in 'pop art' style around the bars. Excellent music events are often billed. The pub also has huge success with it's pool and darts teams amongst many other things. The locals are always up for a laugh and are friendly. As far as beer prices go, few pubs compete with these very reasonable prices

This reopened earlier this year, after a major refurbishment due to a series of fires. The exterior is very much as it was, but the interior is impressive. They have managed to install all new fittings in the style of the original, but creating an open, but friendly space. I would frequent this place more often if there was a choice of real ales but, sadly this is still not the case.
