Bar Mondo, Dartford

Previously Korky’s Wine Bar, this tucked away, small, single room bar is now geared towards the music spectrum with regular DJ’s, Club nights and Live Music. The interior is all chrome and spotlight stuff that lacks any warmth, character or soul and there are no great choices on the beer front - just Guinness, lagers and the like but then most people who use the place don't seem to be terribly fussy about what they drink. Some of the live music can be quite vibrant and they do showcase many local musicians and bands which is commendable and usually my sole reason for stepping foot inside the place. Naturally the age group is on the youngish side and it can be a bit offputting for an old git like me trying to blend in but to be fair I have never had any hassle or seen any trouble on my occasional visits. For all its negative aspects I do feel it is a worthy addition to the town’s night life even though it is only of limited appeal to most.
