This is an old pub that seems to be the only one in town that opens before midday. There's a central bar with areas either side. There are beams, hops draped around, an old fireplace and horse brasses. It seems to be food orientated but their seemed to be a fair few older types in before the food started. the bar has four hand pumps which had one unused, Abbot, Theakston's Best and Ludlow Gold. This isn't the best beer choice but my Ludlow Gold (£3.10) was good and reasonably priced for what seems to be an upmarket pub. I thought this was well worth a look.

Neatly done out Pub/Hotel complete with its own Post Office/Shop , very busy on my Friday afternoon visit mainly older couples eating and a few lager swilling locals at the bar . Service was friendly if a bit on the slow side . Its ok in here
