Fairly standard example of this chain with no real ale. Had a quick Hop House and moved on.

Bright, shiny, modern bar / restaurant with a split-level interior separated by three steps. Also has a few tables out in the pedestrianised area for the better weather. The handpumps have now disappeared, unfortunately, and the keg range is nothing to write home about either, so made do with an overpriced Hop House lager (£4.80).

mainly a food place but also caters for drinkers. Dark, modern, moody space, quite big & near canal bridge to International Convention Centre. Lots of dark wood furniture, floor & bar. Some high stools/tables in the middle with padded dining chairs elsewhere. Lots of different modern lighting. Chic-ish. Its ok, a bit something & nothing, but an extra mark for having real ale, as this type of chainy place usually plays it safe with standard drinks with little thought or effort needed.
