Bridport Arms, Bridport

The Bridport Arms is very close to the beach and it is thatched,the pub was called the Bridehaven when i went in here because they were filming a programme called harbour lights i was told they hung this sign over the Bridport Arms sign. Once inside here there were two rooms i went in the lounge which was quite nice. This pub is a Palmers tied house and i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which was very nice there was also Dorset Gold and Palmers 200 on here. I thought this was a decent pub to have a few drinks in. Photo taken 24 August 1999.

Food oriented, family friendly, pub next to the village's main car park. Two bars plus a formal restaurant mainly for residents at the rear. Main bar is restaurant styled with tables and chairs and a balustraded area and has a restaurant atmosphere. The smaller bar is more cafe like, transport rather than Cafe Royal. West Bay isn't Southend or Blackpool so the décor is quite refined for a seaside place, there are lots of nautical themed photos and old photos of the area. We found it well staffed with young, enthusiastic people. The draught beers from Palmers, IPA and Dorset Gold were both in good condition and much better than in the George opposite. There is a fairly standard range of kegs from Stella, and Carlsberg, with cider from Gaymers and Thatchers and the inevitable Guinness.
