The Goat, Sheerness

A shame - this could be quite a good-looking pub if it was done up a bit, with an arcaded bow window between the two entrances and an island bar. It could also do with a better drinks offering, but no real ale and limited other draught options, so just had a quick John Smith's before heading for the nearby station.

The Goat Inn is a high street pub with an island bar that had a handful of locals sitting at it when I visited on a recent Monday evening. Sky Sports is advertised in the window, but the locals were avidly watching Brit Cops UK on the plasma screen. There is a pool table that was pushed into the corner and out of action, but there is a dartboard on the rear wall. A DJ is advertised on Friday and Saturday evenings when I imagine there is a late license. I found the service to be very friendly, but there is no real ale in this pub. I didn’t see anything in here that would have me rushing back.
