The Tavern, Belper

The Tavern is a plain looking bare brick built town pub,this is just south of the town centre on the main road to Derby. Once inside this is quite a nice pub,there is a single L shaped room with the bar facing,the floor is stone and the ceiling beamed which has lots of small jugs hanging from it plus some pump clips. There is comfy bench seating to the front and left side with small stools,the front right has pew seating and small stools,the rear left area is down one step,there was a covered up pool table here,there is a TV to the left which was showing cricket. There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Lincoln Green Archer which went down very well,the other beers were Pedigree,St Austell Tribute and Abbeydale Wellesley. Decent background music was playing and the pub was busy with a good mixed crowd on my late Saturday afternoon visit. This is a decent pub that is worth a go if in the area. Pub visited 11/7/2015
