The Isles Inn, Portree

A proper pub, this, with a thatched bar, of all things! There's a dining area to the left and a collection of random furniture to the right, including a sofa by the fire which was very attractive to me on a cold, wet day. Somehow this all combines to give a proper pub atmosphere, the sort of place where time passes without you noticing. On the bar are two hand pumps, one serving Stewart Edinburgh Gold and the other Caledonian Flying Scotsman. A moderately interesting beer selection, and although I've had the Flying Scotsman before I was impressed with the quality of this beer, which suggests that the landlord knows how to run a cellar. I spent quite a comfortable time here waiting for the rain to stop, which unfortunately it didn't, so I had only the memory of the fire here to keep me warm on my cycle ride to Broadford.

Very very nice pub!!! Good Food, Live Folk Music, Nice Bar!! Nice Nice Nice!! And very patience & friendly staff.
