Churchills, SW11

Churchills is a long thin pub with a raised seating area at the front, a bar on the left hand wall in the centre and some seating beyond. There are a couple of plasma screens which were muted whilst showing tennis on BBC and horse racing on Sky Sports during my Friday evening visit. There was some background music playing at an unobtrusive volume; it’s a while since I’ve heard Phil Collins! The bar is stocked with standard draught and one of the three hand pumps was unused leaving Sambrooks Wandle and Caledonian’s Golden XPA as the ale options. Thai food is available to eat in or take away and an all-day breakfast is available from 11:00 until 15:00, which is hardly all-day. There is some seating under an awning on the path out the front and there is a covered tree lined beer garden at the rear. There is a weekly quiz on Mondays from 21:00. This place was a little quieter than its peers and certainly more pub like. I would have no problem returning for another couple of beers.
