Crown and Cushion, York

One from the Provenance Collection, so in their usual style it is a slightly-upmarket food-based establishment but where you can rely on a decent ale or two. The sizeable interior has a series of tastefully furnished rooms, mostly laid up for dining, but the area by the bar is good for drinkers. To the rear is a large tabled terrace and there are also a few tables out the front. Cask ales were Theakstons Best, TT Landlord and a guest in the shape of Rudgate South Pacific, in excellent condition.
