Queen Street Brewhouse, Colchester

An ancient building which has clearly seen better days doesn't present the best impression and, internally, it's looking equally knocked about. The Queen Street Brewhouse advertises itself as specialising in real ales, ciders and craft. However, on my visit, the two handpumps were unbadged (I didn't enquire) while a couple of underwhelming Pale Ales comprised the craft options, though half a dozen Belgians upped the interest a little. With the back door open and the front in shade, it was strictly coats on for me and the other punter. They were setting up for an event, so presumably the pub attracts a bit of a crowd later in the day, but it was a bit take it or leave it for me.
