Bush Tavern, Shepherds Bush, W12

Visited 03/12/25. Visited previously as BrewDog on 24/04/24. Two hand pumps that will provide their own cask offering - clipped for the Amber and the Pale but not available until tomorrow on the date of my visit! They have a good selection of their keg offerings (the Lager, the Pale, the Amber, the White, the Tracks IPA, the Tivo Pilsner and the Stout) plus guest offering of Sanford Orchards Devon Red cider, Good Times Lager from Duration, Paulaner lager, Double Diamond Pale Ale, Deya Steady Rolling Man, the Kernel Table Beer and Nirvana AF IPA. Only opened a couple of weeks ago and a very different layout and experience compared to the BrewDog that used to occupy this site just off Shepherds Bush Green. This is now the first pub outlet as far as I know for South London Brewery Bird House and is very plush compared to their brewing site tap room. Bare boarded with the bar counter on the rear wall to the right-hand side with some tall stool seating at the short end of the bar counter. Dark red leather banquettes fitted around the front and front sides serving regular tables with matching light wood chairs the other side thereof. There are some pillars dotted around the venue with a square drinking ledge around and served by tall stools plus regular tables and chairs dotted around the floor space. Suggestion of a DJ booth in the rear left-hand corner and a large group table in the rear right-hand corner behind the bar counter. This is nicely finished, very cool music and a great addition to the drinking scene around here.

All the below still holds true. Feels like quite a small BrewDog venue compared to some others these days. The board over the bar listing all the beer choices does feel a bit overwhelming but it is nicely laid out by style and here does seem to be, relatively speaking, more guest beers these days than in the past. Not a data driven observation, just a hunch. The venue, just off Shepherd’s Bush Green, was lively, but not stupidly so on my visit a bit after 8pm. Definitely orientated to younger ages than me. A lot looked like this is their go to venue around here and would probably remain here all evening. Don’t get that, have been happy ticking off BD London venues mostly, but it would hardly be my go to even if it was my geographically immediate venue to home. Had a pint of their own brew called Shore Leave, a mid 4% abv pale ale that was very pleasant. I struggle to rate any BD venue above the mid point of the range. No real negatives but just doesn’t tick the boxes for me as anything other than a quick one and move onto some where with more character and beyond mind numbingly boring.
