Pride Of The Peaks, High Peak

Called in around noon, and after waiting about 3 mins for a bar person to arrive finally called it a day and headed off to the Royal Oak further up the road.

There's no real ale here, but a blackboard beside the bar lists several bottled ales that are available, such as Old Peculier and Tanglefoot, all at £2.75. The usual keg lagers and ciders are available. The internal walls have been removed, leaving a large one-roomed pub that is mostly carpeted and with comfortable chairs. Around the bar there is a tiled area with some stools to encourage drinkers to linger. A very welcome solid-fuel stove is the feature at one end and this is a pleasant place to pass the time while waiting for a bus at the nearby turning circle.
