Canvas, Watford

Another name change, this time to 'Canvas'. It's a weekend dance club/lounge that also doubles as a Shisha lounge. Based on two floors and boasts a rooftop shisha patio. I popped in for research purposes and ordered a bottle of Goose Island IPA. Asked for a glass, but the one I was given was plastic and so dirty and scratched that I decided to drink out of the bottle.

Called in on a Saturday afternoon to have a look around as the doors were open. There was no-one inside, including any staff for the first couple of minutes. Layout wise it’s very much the same as it was when it was a Hogshead with bars on two floors. The décor is good, there’s a fair amount of seating and it has a comfortable feel, I imagine it’s a fairly popular evening bar. £2 drinks offers until 10pm and they open until 2.30am at the weekend with a resident DJ. Standard lagers plus Gaymers Cider on draught and a myriad of shots and cocktails available.

This place has had a few names over the years, it was a Hogshead once I think, which was probably the last time I went in. Recently it was Bar:Me but currently goes under the name of Rehab, which seems quite appropriate.
