The Dartbridge Inn, Buckfastleigh

Why go all the way to Dartmoor and start your visit with a Greene King food led roadhouse pub? Quite simply, it boasts one significant advantage over pretty much anything in the vicinity by offering a full food service on a Sunday evening, though I'm not sure that so many obviously empty tables requires a prolonged check that unreserved diners can be accommodated. Fortunately, there was room at the inn, as a cursory glance around might have suggested. The beer and the food on offer was exactly what the formula required, of fair quality, and with nothing to concern any holidaying Head Office visitors from Bury St Edmunds. The Dartbridge serves its purpose, with a reasonable number in on a Sunday evening. Service was first rate from my server, though there seems to be a diktat that staff make frequent enquiries as to whether everything's alright or whether more food or drinks might be required. Until it was time to pay, when there was no-one to be found.
