Piel Castle, Ulverston

This is a small terraced Robinsons pub. It has been stone-cladded, and has a central entrance with heavy set stone surround and window lintles and sills. The interior has a single L-shaped room, with is a tongue-in-cheek castle hall. It is in white render with fakey stonework and stone fireplace, truss beams, baronial chairs, curtains.... well, you get the idea. There is a blue carpet. There is little in the way of pictures, but there is a pool table and a couple of dartboards, as well as a TV and large screen TV (neither on). The service was fine and there were a few locals in. Beer; usual tap stuff with Robinson's Dizzy Blonde, which was fine. Definitely worth popping in for a fun experience if nothing else - it does have an uncommon real ale too.

The Piel Castle is a stone built pub that is in the middle of Ulverston. Once inside we went in the room at the front and this was quite a nice room to have a drink in,there may have been other rooms but we did'nt look. When we went in this pub it was a Hartleys tied house and there were two real ales on the bar we had a drink of Hartleys bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Hartleys XB. This was a decent enough pub to have a few drinks in. Pub visited 15/4/1989

A one roomed pub with stage and two very large tv screens.There is live entertainment at weekends.The pub is owned by Robinsons brewery and has just their cask beers, No food.
