The Queen of Iceni (Lloyds No 1), Norwich

Cavernous and thus rather soul-less (former?) Lloyds No 1 bar (all branding removed), with a smaller seating area on the upper floor. Very substantial riverside terrace is the place's best feature. Only five handpumps, offering Ruddles, Abbot, Wherry and two from Adnams - Broadside and Lighthouse (£1.99).

The Queen of Iceni is a large modern Spoons that is situated next to the river Wensum and it is opposite the Bridge Tavern. Once inside there was a very large room with the bar to the left,the pub was so busy i could'nt get a good look round,there was a raised area overlooking the river and an outside terrace which would be nice to sit at when the weather is warm. There was a very poor choice of beers on the bar with 5 pumps being on and most had the usuall Spoons beers on with the likes of GK IPA and Ruddles,i had a drink of Woodfordes Wherry which was decent enough. It was standing room only early Saturday evening. If you want a better pub that is more laid back i would advise going in the Bridge Tavern which is opposite. Pub visited 30/6/2012
