An upmarket offering from Vintage Inns so you know what you're likely to find. The exterior is traditional but has been added to and the interior has been completely refurbished but, as with most Vintage Inns, it provides a comfortable place for a beer or some food. Again, as with many of the type, the bar area is distinct from the restaurant with plenty of room to settle and enjoy a drink without feeling pressured into eating and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant at the rear backs onto a terrace, garden and the canal making this a very pleasant spot in the summer. Food was at the upper end of the Vintage range in both price and quality but I enjoyed it felt that the quality was worth the price. Beers on were Purity UBU, Pedigree and Doom Bar with the first two being in good condition. I'd happily return for food and beer ideally on a sunny day by the canal.
