The Inn at Ravenglass, Ravenglass

Quite austere looking from the outside and sparsely furnished on the inside. There is a sunken bar, with a restaurant adjacent. Friendly landlord and rotating clientele. It was almost like a "two out - two in" rule, as every time someone left, they were instantly replaced. 4-5 cask on - the landlord said they get the turnover - most from the Ulverston brewery. Who are a bit annoying in that the pump clips give no indication as to the type of beer. The Laughing Gravy is a decent bitter and was in fine condition. Its the food that holds the attention here - a simple chalk board with two starters and two mains - but it looked (and was priced as though) it would be lovely. Not much choice - The Ship Inn is now a house. The Ratty Arms is marked as Temporarily Closed and the Pennington looks more like a hotel.
