The Old Gate Inn, Wolverhampton

Country pub with a fairly large outdoor area to the rear. With most tables indoors laid out for diners on our Sunday lunchtime visit, we decided to take a seat outdoors to enjoy some early spring warmth. We were soon joined by the friendly pub cat. The patio at the rear currently has an extremely large awning over it, but we overheard the landlady say that she would be glad when they put it away for the summer. However, I thought it was a fairly good feature that would also be beneficial in the summer. The 5 cask ales are Batham's Best, Hobson's Town Crier, Wye Valley HPA & Enville Ale & Ginger. There is a sixth handpull for a guest beer, but I'm not sure how often they have one on. The cider is Thatcher's Gold.
