The Star Inn, Brecon

Popped into the Star for a pint after taking in Pen-Y-fan. As the reviews say below, this is an excellent real ale pub with 4 brews on the bar. We were ther at Sunday lunch time and the place was packed with locals and walkers alike, demolishing huge plates of food. Judging by the 100's of clips on the cieling, this place is not afraid to ship in beers from all over the country, but if you really must, there is lager and John Smiths? A local pub that seems to be thriving, despite being well off the beaten track. Well worth the visit.

The Star has been the best real ale pub in this region since the mid 1980s....that says it all!

A great pub, serving quality food, with an extensive and varied range of real ales. A good atmosphere too.
