The Little Grosvenor, Bedminster, Bristol

A basic and scruffy corner pub that I chanced to do on a whim en route to Totterdown from the Ostrich. My Saturday night visit fond the place full of white Bristolians giving it the full Wigga vibe (thunking reggae on the jukey and the odd whiff of herbs no doubt carried in on their clothing from elsewhere). General atmosphere was pretty rough and ready (even Alan Winfield below says it’s not for the faint hearted!) but I was left to my own devices, though I get the feeling my presence was noted by the regulars. The right angle interior is done out in red and white (is this a Ted pub?) with some mirrored uppers, quite unusual. No sign of any ale so an emergency Blackthorn did for me. I was happy to leave it to the locals after draining my glass and admiring the chap and his dog who both were wearing full Union Jack outfits.

The Little Grosvenor is a small pub that is situated close to the River Avon. Once inside there is a small single room with the bar on the left side,the room is bare boarded,the seating normal tables and chairs,there is a TV to the front which was showing the West Ham v Man City game. There are no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Courage Best which was ok for a keg bitter. There was very loud background music playing and the pub was very busy on an early Saturday evening visit. Not a pub for the faint hearted. Pub visited 23/1/2016
