Whitechurch, Durham

Nicely laid out pub but regrettably no ale of any strength. The entrance is actually on Stockton Road directly opposite the Bill Bryson library at the University.

The New Inn is a decent looking pub that is next to a very busy road junction and very close to Durham University. Once inside there is a single room which runs the width of the pub,the bar faces on entry,the main area of the room is bare boarded but the seating areas are carpeted,the seating is comfy bench type and chairs,plus some normal tables and chairs,there is a pool table to the rear left and a TV to the left which was showing football. There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Durham Magnus which was a nice drink,the other beer was Yard of Ale Lemon Bomb. The pub was fairy quiet on my Saturday dinner visit with a few students having meals. This is a decent enough pub and worth the short walk from the Victoria. Pub visited 19/3/2016
