Kitty O'Hanlans, Plymouth

Kitty O’Hanlans is an Irish themed pub that proclaims itself to be Plymouth’s home of rugby, which explains the Six Nations flags still hanging from the ceiling in August. Multiple televisions are located around the pub for showing said rugby, although muted Commonwealth Games was on during my recent Tuesday evening visit. The serving counter, found on the right wall, faces a mix of standard and high tables that run across the front windows. At the rear is another seating area with second smaller bar. This area has also has a separate entrance around the rear of the pub and I got a late bar vibe. The bar supports three handpumps, but one was off leaving an offering from Salcombe Brewery and Dartmoor’s Jail Ale. There was also a standard and premium keg selection, including four Guinness fonts. I found the service to be very friendly, but not sure I’d go out of my way to drink here again.

Typical Irish themed City centre pub with all the usual fixtures and fittings.The bar is to your right on entry with another room beyond this which also has a serving area.There was just one cask on, Jail Ale which had certainly seen better days.On the plus side the dog was friendly.
