The Apple Tree, Carlisle

This is a large pub that is trying to cover all bases and as a result ending up not doing any of them that well. There are four hand pumps and CAMRA discount but there was a cider and only one beer, the dire Greene King Rocking Rudolph. A TV screen was showing football on one side but there were only about half a dozen people watching. The rest of the pub was mostly family groups in for a bite to eat while out shopping. This and the fact it's a large open plan room made it seem like a Spoons but with nothing worth drinking. At least the Rocking Rudolph was cheap £2.45 inclusive of the 10% CAMRA discount. I probably wouldn't bother coming here again.
