I’ve been to the Six Bells a few times since my 2011 review where I found it to be much the same with decent reasonably priced food and a friendly welcome. My last visit was on a Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago when the pub was busy with bikers. There was also some jazz in progress, which I believe is hosted every week. I’m not a massive fan of jazz, but I don’t mind a bit of ‘Tom & Jerry’ jazz, so I enjoyed listening in the bar to the left of the entrance, somewhere I didn’t know existed. It feels like a converted stable, but I could be wrong. The only let down during my visit was that two of the hand pumps were unused meaning the ubiquitous Harvey’s Sussex Best was the only ale option.
