The Plough, Hailsham

Lovely looking village pub, and although the various parts of the building obviously date from different times, it all fits together as a whole. It has a partly modernised yet still very traditional rambling interior, but the extensive beer garden is a real draw in fine weather. Although a Shepherd Neame house, they would never get away without stocking Harvey's as well as the Spitfire (£5.10) from the bank of three handpumps in both small bars.
