Wheelbarrow, Southsea

The Wheelbarrow is a largish pub that is situated opposite southsea common. The pubs lower half was painted black when we went i here which i think made the pub look a bit seedy from the outside but once inside it was'nt has bad as i thought it would be,there was one room that had different drinking areas with some of these were on raised levels. This was a Whitbread tied house when we did this pub and there was one real ale on here this was Whitbread Flowers bitter and this was a decent drink. Pub visited 17/2/1999 Photo taken 20/2/1999

Went past today, scaffolding up & exterior being repaired & painted. I do not know if this means pub will reopen or just become offices / flats. One to keep an eye on
