The Red Lion (JD Wetherspoon), Petersfield

This was once a Whitbread Beefeater and had something of a history before that rubbish incarnation. It's a large pub but probably only medium sized for a JDW. It's something of a rambling place and having entered from the right hand side it took a while to find the bar which is over on the left by the large car park. It's a much more attractive place than the usual shop conversions partly because it has always been a pub and partly because it's a newer outlet. The eight hand pumps had a good selection of the JDW Trio Of Doom, Windsor and Eton Windsor Knot & Eton Boatman, Banks's Alpha 5 IPA, Ballard's Golden Bine and Firebird Summer Sorachi. I went for the Windsor Knot which was in good nick. Sadly I only had time for a flying visit to this one but it seemed like a good Spoons to me.
