The Singing Chocker, Glasshoughton, Castleford

A fairly new family pub built in the 1990's. It's name was chosen after a competition by the pub chain. The pub stands close to where the Glasshoughton Colliery used to be. A popular worker at the pit whose job was to "chock up" the coal faces, also was known to do his fair share of singing while he worked! Very popular when it first opened, but now has the Xscape complex close by, so trade has suffered. 2 for 1 meal deals still make it very popular.
