1769 Bar @ The Inn at Grasmere, Ambleside

Part of the Red Lion Hotel in the centre of the village, the Lamb has the feel of an afterthought about it. The strangely upholstered bench seats are arranged more like a burger bar than a pub, though some Lake District prints and photos are more like what you'd expect of a pub in these parts. The small bar has three hand pumps, with Hawkshead Red, Jennings Cumberland Ale and Marstons EPA on when I was here. The beer was fine, but this is not one I'd go out of my way to visit again.
