The Cholmeley Arms, Grantham

Stayed here for a couple of nights and really pleased we did. The room was very clean and comfortable, and quite large. As to the pub itself, it's a great little place. We were made to feel most welcome by the staff and local alike. There were two real beers on - TT Landlord and Grainstore Springtime. Both in excellent order and reasonably priced. They had GK IPA as well, but I forgive them because of the menu.... The food was to die for, and they seem petrified that you will go away hungry - The portions need to be seen to be believed. As to a return visit, we've already booked.

The Cholmeley Arms is a very small village and the pub looks like it is set into a small hill but the front entrance is now out of use probably because of the steps up to the main drinking area. Once inside there was a largish room as you entered this was carpeted and had small round wooden tables and chairs this looked like it could be used for dining,the bar was towards the front of the pub and this was a smallish area with a stone floor and a real fire for colder weather,there was also another room which was to the left of the bar this looked quite smart. There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Ruddles County and this was a fairly decent drink the other beer was GK IPA. This was a fairly decent village pub though the beer choice could have been better.
