The Yarborough Hunt, Brigg

The Yarborough Hunt is an old pub on the western edge of the main town centre. It's the brewery tap for the local Tom Woods brewery and is a long narrow room with a wider area at the front and the bar on the right. There is a snug at the back left and an enclosed patio garden. It was quiet on my Tuesday afternoon visit. The bar has nine hand pumps which had one unused Tom Wood's Best, Lincoln Gold & Bomber County, Old Golden Hen, Marston's Old Empire, Directors, Brakspear Oxford Gold and a cider. I went for the Bomber County (£3.30) which was in good nick. This is certainly a good place to come to try Tom Wood's ales. My only slight reservation is that the guest ales were rather mainstream but there may be a good reason for that. It's GBG 2017 listed.

Lovely pub and so far the best for ale in Brigg, it is a lovely old multi room building with excellent and friendly staff, is the brewery Tap for Tom Wood Ales with usually 5 on handpull and varying in the Wood range as many are seasonal, and another 3 handpulls with varying beers on. Cosy inside and nicely decorated, very comfortable to sit in, smoking/patio/beer garden to the rear. Excellent staff and friendly landlord.
