Horse & Plough, Nottingham

This appears to be the best pub in town. Although, we didn't try the Wheatsheaf. It's just outside of the town centre and stocks a good range of ales and ciders, albeit more limited during the current pandemic. There is a single room, with a small yard at the rear. A public car park (free for 2 hours) is just beyond. The interior is traditional. But it lacked atmosphere, with only one other group inside on our Saturday lunchtime visit. As a Castle Rock pub, Harvest Ale is the regular ale. Their Screech Owl was also on. The 2 guests were Bass & Pentrich Postcode Envy, whilst the ciders were Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon & Lilley's Mango Cider. I did enquire about the CAMRA discount. But they have stopped offering this for the foreseeable future. The best pub in Bingham. Although understandable, it's a shame that the ale and cider range was a little limited.

What a find this Castle Rock pub is in Bingham. 10 ales and a good variety from micro breweries as well as their own ales. Hard choice to make as we were on a coach trip and I only had time for a quick one, but the Nomadic Uncivilised went down very well. The pub is a single room and th ceiling beams are adorned with pump clips. It was a friendly market town pub and well worth a visit.
