As the previous review states this is a long walk from the station GBG 2011 states 15 minutes , it took me 20 and i know the way , its easy to get lost in the streets behind the Dana and around Monkmoor if your new to the area . The pub was converted from a private house in 1938 and named after the nearby Benadictine Abbey . The pub itself is really one large open plan room with a central bar , the walls are painted a strange mauve colour in the front of the pub and washed out orange to the rear with some cheap looking prints , small alcoves filled with logs and a 1970s style display case with vases and ornaments , its all a bit your Aunties house in 1975 ! There are nine handpulls plus the usual keg , only five handpulls on during my visit with Bass , Abbott Ale , Doombar , Harviston Bitter and Twisted and i had Meantime London Pale Ale which was OK . The pub was pretty busy , mostlly people eating . Overall its OK for a quick pint if your in the area but i would not make a special journey to visit
