The Harrow, Shepperton

From the outside, a gorgeous little thatched pub, very, very rare for the area. Sadly the low-beamed inside doesn't quite live up to the expectations. One side is laid up as a fairly bleak-looking restaurant, and it didn't seem very popular. The other side has the wrong layout, the wrong furnishings and the wrong lighting so just doesn't make it. The presence of a tv showing football and the sound of a radio from the kitchen just added insult to injury. It was taken over by Morlands some years ago, I seem to remember in a big pub swap, but that just means indifferent Greene King beers now. Appears to have a few loyal regulars, but could be so much better. What a waste!
