The Bat & Ball, Farnham

12 years on from my last visit and still operating on a similar basis of a decent pubby pub with a good food offering. Still six handpumps on the go with a slightly more palatable beer lineup than I found in the previous decade, Triple fff Altons Pride,Hop Back Summer Lightning, Hogs Back Surrey Nirvana Flowerpots Perridge Pale and a new one for me,Mithril Route A66, kept in good condition. Premium lager and some corporate craft on keg. Still difficult to find but worth the effort.

Not an easy pub to get to by road as you have to traverse numerous moon craters on an unmade road to get to the pub carpark. better to park up on Sandrock hill road above the pub and take the foot path down to it. when you get there you will find a traditional style country pub,Fairly spacious bar areas with pine style woodwork probably 50/50 food /beer orientated. Six handpumps dispensing real ale but on my visit seemed to be rather run of the mill fare, the likes of London Pride ,Tongham Tea and T.T.Landlord etc .Pleasant enough place but not a destination pub for me.
