Attractive old inn, supposedly dating from 1470, partly opened-out inside to leave an elongated 'L'-shaped layout. The main bar at the front transitions through a semi-traditional alehouse-style zone to a brightly-lit restaurant area at the rear. A covered side alley and courtyard leading to the toilets is enlivened by hand-drawn Belle Epoque artwork on some of the walls. Five real ales on handpump, with Greene King IPA, Deuchars IPA, Bombardier, Old Speckled Hen and the 'house' 4.1% Roebuck Ale (£3.75) on (and schooner-sized measures also noted as being available). Although the refurbishment won't be to everybody's taste, the atmosphere was good and the place is worth a visit if in the area.

Ye olde-est pubbe in Warwick, or so it says, it plays to the theme inside and with the prices! Nice friendly old pub though with plenty of space, especially if you are eating. Parts of the former outside areas appear to have been drawn inside to make extra space. Fine place to visit.
