Queen & Castle, Kenilworth

Nice pub geared towards food but with 3 ales on. The Rev James gold was in good nick. Large beer garden at the rear. A nice spot to pass the time after walking round the castle opposite.

yes, its touristy and yes, its more catered for food - but it is exceptionally well presented, has a lovely beer garden and had three real ales on - Doom Bar, Tribute and the Purity UBU that I went for. Worth at least 6 out of 10! Some photos at my walking blog - http://bit.ly/1Mvti3M

The Queen and Castle is a nice looking bare brick built pub that is in a nice location opposite Kenilworth Castle. Once inside the bar faces,the front area is oblong shaped with raised area at each side of the room,the seating is bench type and normal tables and chairs,the rear area is more of a dining room which was packed on our Saturday dinner visit. There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Purity Mad Goose which was a nice drink,the other beers were Purity UBU and Doom Bar. Most people were having meals but drinkers were made just as welcome. The pub was very busy on our Saturday dinner visit, the service at the bar was very quick. Pub visited 18/4/2015
