Slug & Lettuce, Sutton Coldfield

Not a review, just info. The Litten Tree in Sutton Coldfield is now Yates's.

A rather bland terraced Litten Tree chin pub and eatery, in an undressed brick and glass frontage with green signage The interior is an open plan room, supported by columns, with the serving bar at the far end to the left. It is ‘Spoonsy’ in style, with mainly foody tables, but sofas and comfy chairs as well. The décor is blues, reds, with brown and coffee wood panel, amongst other colours, with a yellow ceiling that has a white trim. There is a bookcase along the wall, with some books and a few vases. There are no real pictures, maybe because there are more TVs on the walls (including a large screen) than you can imagine – some had footy on, some had a silent music channel. The service was fine, the clientele mixed and it was reasonably busy for a late weekday visit. Beer; tap stuff with Wells Bombardier and a decent Wychwood Dirty Tackle on handpull. A sports bar really, typical Litten Tree. TV overload.

Easily confused for more famous JDW just over the road. I only ever visited The Litten Tree once years ago. I remember it was very large single room, many single mothers and children running around. I must be drunk at that time! Must visit it again when sober..
