This place is certainly one of the better Wetherspoons that I have ventured into and I even thought that the staff were polite and friendly. My pint of Guinness was good and very reasonably priced and I would return if in the area, even though I’m not the biggest JDW fan.

One of the better Wetherspoons in my opinion. And, like most ‘spoons, it is pretty busy all day. It is a newish purpose-built pub so has nothing in the way of pub character (i.e. even less than most other Wetherspoons have). Food is like all other ‘spoons. But they invariably have some decent ale on at (of course) pretty decent prices. I had Newman’s Wolver’s Ale; Hyde’s Heads & Tails; and Hogsback Winter Warmer last night, and enjoyed them. I do have one small moan though – of the four pumps dedicated to guest ales, by 9.30 two of them had ale clips on them but were advertised as “available soon”. It strikes me that beer pumps should be for the purpose of dispensing ale, not as advertising boards for forthcoming ales – the board on the wall is for that sort of thing. It would be much better to have another ale ready to put on when one is finished. Nonetheless it’s still a good ‘spoons.
