The Crown (JD Wetherspoon), Worcester

This is a long narrow city centre Spoons that was busy with mostly shoppers on my Monday lunchtime visit. It extends back a long way into the building. It dates back to 2004 and will be closed for a week in August to carry out a refurbishment. I hope that refurbishment will include some extra hand pumps as six is a pathetic number for a Spoons this size. On my visit three were taken up with Ruddles & Abbot, Vale Gravitas had gone off, leaving just a Locale Prescott Chequered Flag or an International beer from about six weeks ago Adnam's Sixpoint Make It Rain. I went for the Chequered Flag which was in reasonable condition and was £2.20 discounted to £1.99 on Cheapskate Monday. I thought this Spoons was a complete waste of time and would only return if the refurbishment saw an improvement in the beers available. The one by the railway station is miles better than this.
