Travellers Rest, Durham

BE WARNED. This pub does not serve food on a Monday. We wasted money on 2 taxis to have a belated Valentine's celebration there only to find out after being there an hour, and ONLY because the landlord told 3 other ladies who had come in to eat. Also, take some earplugs as if it is the landlords dinner time the TV will be turned up loud so he can watch the news. I am genuinly upset as we were really looking forward to the night out as The Last Inn has been our "special occasion" pub for years. So when I read the other reviews we decided to return and were left bitterly disappointed. We'll try again but will make sure we drive and make sure we're not celebrating anything.

A cracking pub! Under new ownership, huge refurbishment.Staff are warm,welcoming,friendly and efficient,nothing too much trouble! Food excellent,beautifully presented, something to suit everyone and reasonably priced! Guest real ales keep hubby happy!quiz night tuesday, where else can you get a good laugh and a hot supper for a quid a head??? Highly recommended!
